【東京都】 「TIME TO ACT フォーラム2024~都市から世界へ呼びかける気候アクション~」 10月24日(木)開催
in 2021, green hydrogen expansion in 2022, and energy decarbonization in cities in 2023. Tokyo itself seeks to achieve net-zero by 2050.
Importantly, the Forums have acted as a prelude to Tokyo’s participation in the Conference of the Parties (COP), hosted by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
At this year’s COP29 in Azerbaijan, world leaders are expected to discuss updating their greenhouse gas emission reduction targets. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike will be attending on-site, bringing insights and recommendations from the TIME TO ACT Forum 2024, and calling for the world’s cities to join together in solidarity, deepen communication with nations and various non-state actors, and contribute to global greenhouse gas reductions.
